 Automotive Equipment: Alignment : Sensors

Hunter Engineering Company is a world leader in automotive wheel alignment systems. Hunter alignment products feature the latest in alignment system technology including the new DSP400 Digital Imaging Alignment sensors for "Picture PerfectTM" alignment.

DSP400

Unique Design Speeds Alignment... Reduces Down Time

· Four high resolution digital video cameras (one per target) continuously monitor targets at each wheel. Cameras are mounted up high, out of harm's way

· Optional hand-held LED Remote Indicator provides complete control while performing rolling compensation and making vehicle adjustments.

·DSP400 Sensors provide the same high-speed screen updates as conventional sensors

·Patented alignment targets require:- No calibration - No electronics - No cables - No batteries

·DSP400 Sensors can be used with existing Hunter alignment equipment using WinAlign® 4.3 software or later versions

High resolution digital cameras continuously measure wheel target position and orientation, providing the same alignment measurements as conventional sensors.

DSP400 Sensors use Digital Signal Processors to measure and actually process the data acquired at the cameras before sending it to the aligner console, speeding display of alignment information (Each of the four cameras has its own DSP).

DSP300

  • Each Hunter DSP300 Series Alignment Sensor Features a Digital Signal Processor that requires measurements and actually processes alignment data at the sensor.
  • Each sensor allows for an easy, precise run out compensation procedure. The technician may choose between 2–point or 3–point compensation. Using 3–point compensation, a technician makes only one trip around the car, compensating each sensor as it is mounted.
  • RangeFinder®* feature calculates track width and wheelbase (up to 210"). Results are displayed on the CRT.
  • Cal–Check® feature displays an alert on–screen notifying the technician if sensor calibration is required. DSP308 Sensors feature rear tow arms for total around–the–car calibration checking. Continuous check ensures accurate toe calibration.
  • Sensors can see front–to–rear, even on dual wheel vehicles, to calculate 20° toe–out–on–turns. Turning angle is measured electronically. No additional computer hardware or electronic turn plates are required.
  • The patented Suspension & Body Dimension Audit (SBDA) option provides a quick screening to determine if the vehicle is align able and identifies the need for body shop procedures. (SBDA requires Ride Height* option and WinAlign® 3.0 software or greater.)
